Great food and atmosphere. Service can be a little slow, but one of the better local restaurants in Knoxville.
Cheese grits are goooooooooood!
Cosmo's is a decent local brunch spot with some nice daily specials and dog-friendly outdoor seating.
Great brunch
First of all, as many have commented, it is HIGHLY over priced. Case in point, a piece of toast (yes just one) .. $2! We went for breakfast (brunch if you want to be posh about it) .. we waited forever until a server even came up to us for a drink order. Luckily I had already looked at the prices on the menu and decided to simply opt for water .. mainly because I was afraid of what it would cost me for a cup of coffee and knew I wanted dippy eggs so I'd be needed that money for some toast. Another 10 mins pass until we finally get our water, followed by another 15 until our food came. Andddd, my order was wrong. I'll spare you the rest of the 30 min story and simply say, save your money, and go somewhere else.
Name name name
By far the most thoughtful breakfast place I have found in Knoxville, there is the plaid apron, but their execution falls short.
The sandwiches are overpriced and not very impressive. I had a reuben and chips and it didn't fill me up. If you want a great reuben, go to Holy Land. Twice the size for the same price.
I wish this place didn't have the best tasting breakfast in the Bearden area because the prices are terrible and the service is only okay. I don't know that the new management is an improvement.
There's a lot of weird horror stories in the reviews here which I just don't understand. The Frog in a Ditch is the tastiest thing ever, all of their sandwiches are fantastic, it's a sit-down restaurant where you can get a latte in Knoxville which is a miracle in and of itself. Maybe a little pricey but I haven't felt swindled or anything. Always been a good experience for me.
This use to be my go to place in Knoxville for Brunch but has steadily gotten worst over the last few years. They use to have the best coffee in Knoxville but that has changed as well. This is unfortunate and I think the overall quality has gone down due to mismanagement and a staff that doesn't care. The staff in the past use to care about the product they sold and the service they gave.RIP Cosmo's Cafe.
Think this place has been taken over by a new cook but the food is really good for breakfast.
